A HUGE crash involving several vehicles resulted in a busy main road being closed to motorists as firefighters worked to free trapped casualties.
Emergency services, including police and paramedics, were called to the A120 in Coggeshall near Colne Road at about 5pm today.
Upon arrival firefighters were confronted with three vehicles - including one car on its side - which has been involved in a serious smash.
The crews, from Coggeshall, Braintree, and Loughton, worked to release two people from their vehicles before leaving them in the care of the ambulance service by 5.50pm.
The incident resulted in the road's eastbound and westbound carriageways being closed, which also caused delays on all approaching roads.
