A SPEEDING motorist is set to be punished after being caught driving at almost double the speed limit.
Police officers clocked the driver speeding at 58mph in a 30mph limit in Colchester on Monday evening.
Essex Police’s Roads Policing Team stated 18 motorists were breathalsyed during the operation but all were cleared.

“However, many tickets were issued for speed with the highest 58mph in a 30mph,” the force Tweeted.
The action came as part of the force’s pledge to the Vision Zero scheme, which aims to achieve zero deaths and serious injuries on the county’s roads by 2040.
