CLACTON seafront was filled with reindeers and Santas as people pounded the pavements to help a lifesaving charity.

The RNLI Reindeer Run saw Clacton seafront bustling with antlers and Santa hats on Saturday.

Charitable runners braved the nippy breeze to raise money for the irreplaceable lifeboat service.

Runners either took part in the Santa Saunter, a more relaxed 2k run, or the 10K, which was reserved for the more experienced runners among the group.

The 10k run saw competitors jog along the seafront promenade to Holland Haven and back again.

All participants were awarded a hot drink, mince pie and antlers, upon completion of the festive, charitable event.

Children received a goody bag, and the 10K runners received a Reindeer Run medal upon completion.

In a previous statement, Mark Walsham, spokesman for RNLI Clacton, said: “Every time our RNLI crew launches, they are determined to save everyone - but they can’t do that without you.

“The Reindeer Run is a fun, festive way to get active and be a lifesaver, because you’ll be raising vital funds that power our people.”
