TWO people have been hospitalised following an incident on a busy road.

Emergency services were alerted to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles at about 3.57pm on the A1341 Via Urbis Romanae in Colchester.

Two people were taken to Colchester General Hospital for treatment.

The road was closed in both directions yesterday afternoon as a result of the collision.

Four ambulances and an ambulance officer attended the scene alongside the police.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.57pm on Friday 18th November to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the A1341 Via Urbis Romanae at Colchester.

“Four ambulances and an ambulance officer were called to the scene.

“Two patients were transported to Colchester General Hospital for treatment.”

Essex Police have been approached for comment.
