AN uninsured pensioner who got behind the wheel without a valid driving licence has been handed eight penalty points.
Patrick Donaghy, 79, was caught out after driving a Land Rover in London Road, Marks Tey on February 23.
Donaghy, of Riverside Avenue West, Lawford, admitted driving without insurance and driving without the correct licence when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
The pensioner was handed eight points on his licence and ordered to pay £200 in a fine, surcharge and costs.
