POLICE have launched an appeal after a man grabbed a young child by the arm in Colchester city centre.
Essex Police were called to Eld Lane, in Colchester, on October 21 at around 11.30am.
Officers received reports a child and her mother were standing near the Purple Dog pub when they were approached by a man.
A police spokesman said: "The man tried to engage with them but made them feel uncomfortable and they tried to leave the area.
"The man then followed them and, at one stage, grabbed the young girl by the arm and pulled her backwards.
"Thankfully, the mother and daughter were able to get to safety and no injuries were sustained."
