A WALK-IN vaccination clinic opened its doors for those wanting to protect themselves against Covid ahead of the winter.

The site temporarily opened in St Margaret’s Church hall, in Stansted Road, Colchester, on Friday.

Berechurch councillor Dave Harris worked to ensure a number of clinics could open in the region.

He said: “I worked with heads from the NHS vaccine service and local church leaders in Berechurch and Shrub End to have five walk-in events put on where people can get a Covid vaccine.

“I want to thank Mark snelling of St Margaret's Church and the wonderful vaccine staff who are making sure my community is protected as much as we are able to.

“Thank you to the NHS and the Community 360 volunteers.”

The next walk-in clinic will come in the form of the NHS’ vaccination bus.

The bus will be pulling into St Cedds Community Centre, in Iceni Way, between 10am and 3.30pm today.
