A NEW coffee shop owner is "buzzing" with ideas after taking over a popular shop.

Harrison Unau, 33, and his partner Jacey Allen, 29, are the new owners of the Coffee Crate in Tower Business Park in Tiptree.

Mr Unau also owns the CBD pure life and botanical pharm shop next door to the Coffee Crate.

He says he is full of ideas for his new shop and plans to offer jacket potatoes, soups and traditional British food.

Mr Unau said he has always had a passion for coffee and jumped at the chance of being the new owner.

He said: “I saw an opportunity to put an offer in at the coffee shop, so I took it.

“About a year ago I told my partner I want to buy it and now I have I am chuffed to bits.

“I love coffee, I have about four or five a day.

“I am looking to do my own special, super strong blend in the future for people who love coffee like me.

“At the moment we use Ipswich-based Paddy and Scott’s, which is amazing.”

Mr Unau has lots of plans for future events at the coffee shop.

He said: “Mondays are really quiet down here, so I am thinking about doing something after Christmas such as events for elderly people to come to.

“It’s really important that they leave with a smile on their face.

“I have lots of ideas, I am buzzing for it.

“My kids love it too, our eldest helps out with clearing away and she loves sitting in there and chatting with customers.

“We will have a stall at the Tiptree Christmas market and there is a Christmas market coming up at Crate Tiptree with lots of stalls on the first Sunday of December.”

The coffee shop is based off Kelvedon Road.
