A THIEF who stole perfume from a luxury department store in Colchester has been allowed to walk free.
Louise Cook, 35, snatched the perfume worth £118 from Fenwick, in High Street, on August 31.
Cook, of no fixed abode but known to frequent Colchester, admitted the offence at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
She was discharged conditionally for one year, meaning the offence is registered on her criminal record but no further action will be taken unless a further offence is committed.
Cook was also ordered to pay a £26 surcharge.
