A MOTORCYCLIST has been rushed to hospital after colliding with a car in Colchester.
Ipswich Road has been partially closed near the Compton Road junction since about 1pm today following the incident.
An eyewitness told the Gazette the rider, understood to be a Deliveroo employee, has been catapulted onto the road.
A police spokeswoman said: "We were called to Ipswich Road in Colchester at about 12:45pm this afternoon following a collision involving a car and a motorcycle.

"The motorcyclist has been taken to hospital and the road remains partially closed.
"Anyone who witnessed the collision or may have any dashcam footage is asked to contact us quoting incident 575 of November 5."
Traffic has been building in the road since the closure, with the eyewitness claiming they were stuck in traffic for almost three hours.
It is understood the road is set to fully reopen shortly.
