THE mother of a talented chef murdered by an aggrieved drug dealer says her son will never be forgotten.
Jane Rochford said “not in a million years” did she think she would be forced to bury her 29-year-old boy during her lifetime.
Keith McCarthy, 42, was jailed for life yesterday for murdering the father-of-three in Marine Parade, Dovercourt.
“That man has deprived [Kerrin’s] children from their loving father,” said Ms Rochford.
“He may have gone physically but we have so many happy memories and love and we know he is with us in spirit.”
The mother admitted her child “had his demons” but insisted troubling characters refused to leave him alone.
She said: “He was a very sociable person who was family orientated. He was kind-hearted.
“He made some mistakes in his life and fell into drug addiction. This did not make him a bad person.”
Ms Rochford added Kerrin had made a pact to spend some more quality time with his eldest son just days before his death.
The mother revealed her heartbreak at this promise having to go unfulfilled.
“Kerrin will never be forgotten and his children are the focus for all of our lives now he is gone,” she said.
“Fly high, my angel.”
