AN investigation has been launched by police officers after a volunteer had his bicycle stolen from inside a church as he helped those in need.

Essex Police received a report of a bike being snatched from St James’ Church, in Tower Road, Clacton, at about 7.45pm on October 29.

The white Carrera Crossfire belongs to Simon Peck, 49, from Clacton, who was helping out at an hour-long soup kitchen event at the time of the theft.
