Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault which happened in Colchester in the early hours of today.

Two teenage boys received injuries to their heads during the incident in Gavin Way, Highwoods, at just after 1am today (October 30).

One boy was taken to hospital for treatment.

The injuries were serious but not life-threatening.

The victims told police they were attacked by one man, who was with four other men.
