LANDLORDS who own properties across Colchester have been invited to an event organised by the council’s housing arm.

On Wednesday, November 23, the Colchester Landlord Forum will hold an event at Colchester Rugby Club, where guest speakers will provide information about Colchester Borough Homes (CBH) property and tenancy management services to landlords and letting agents.

The event will run from 6pm until 8pm, and aims to help landlords make the most of their property portfolios, while also ensuring the homes they provide their tenants are safe and legal.

Bookings for the event can be made via www.cbhomes.org.uk/landlordsforum.

The chief executive of CBH, Philip Sullivan, said the evening was a chance for landlords to refamiliarise themselves with housing law and understand their responsibilities for tenants.

He said: “The forum provides landlords with a great opportunity to network in an environment that can provide them with the most up-to-date information on housing law [and] contacts for useful organisations.

“[It means landlords can] be clear about their responsibilities to provide quality housing and to support their tenants.”

Guest speakers include a regional landlord representative Joanne Dron, who will present on recent and upcoming changes to the legislation relating to private rented properties, and solicitor Billy Smith, who will discuss evictions.
