YOUNG rock fans will headbang to their heart’s content when a heavy metal band for children take to the stage of a city centre music venue.

Slay Duggee, made up of five dogs, will return to Colchester Arts Centre, in Church Street, on November 27, with their now infamous and annual My First Metal Gig event.

Throughout the afternoon of controlled chaos, the band will perform rock covers of fan favourites such as Baby Shark, Daddy Finger, Sleeping Bunnies and Paw Patrol.

There will also be a children’s heavy metal disco, face painting, circle pits, lots of friendly moshing, and a joyous stage invasion to conclude the show.

The performance will once again be held to raise money for Little Bentley boy Angus Grocott, who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and requires frequent treatment.

Black Shuck, drummer with Slay Duggee, who have previously impressed the likes of radio DJ Steve Lamacq, believes the band is integral to childhood.

He said: “Slay Duggee put on an inclusive and accessible show and encourages everyone to get involved.

“It’s vital the children of the world receive the correct musical upbringing. Slay Duggee are a key educational tool for any responsible parent.”

Tickets for the 1.30pm show, the doors for which will open an hour before, cost £8 and can be purchased by visiting colchesterartscentre.com.
