THREE men have been arrested on suspicion of GBH and ABH after a serious assault in Colchester.

Two victims were left needing hospital treatment after being allegedly assaulted in Sir Isaacs Road, Colchester.

The incident occurred at around 6:50pm on Saturday, October 22, when two victims heard their car being hit and got out to question three men nearby.

The victims, in their 20s, were assaulted.

As a result, three men have been arrested on suspicion of GBH and ABH.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We have arrested three men in connection with an assault in Colchester that left two men injured.

“The two victims were driving down Sir Isaacs Road, Colchester, at around 6.50pm on Saturday 22 October when they heard their car being hit and got out to question three men nearby.

“The victims, in their 20s, were assaulted. They both sustained injuries: one suffered a black eye, the other a dislocated arm.

“Officers continue to question two men, 56 and 29, arrested on suspicion of GBH and ABH. The 29-year-old man has been further arrested on suspicion of public order and criminal damage to a vehicle.

“A third man, 43, has been released under investigation following his arrest on suspicion of GBH and ABH.”

Both victims sustained injuries with one suffering a black eye, the other a dislocated arm.

Officers are appealing for witnesses as they believe there would have been lots of people in the area at the time of the "shocking attack". 

Richard Vince, detective sergeant, added: “It was a busy time and there would have been lots of people around the general area and who may have witnessed the assault. We’d like them to come forward and speak to us.

“It was a shocking attack, and the victims were both taken to hospital.

“Our enquiries will continue, but if you have any information in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.”
