A FAIR returned to a village as part of a popular annual event.
We Are Handmade's Early Bird Christmas Craft Fair was back in Coggeshall earlier this month, with an array of stalls on display.
The fairs have been running for 12 years and are organised by Dee Shadforth from Marble Events.
Dee has worked with various businesses to put on craft events over the years such as Old Spitalfields Market, Greenwoods Hotel and Spa and the Warren Golf Club, and has held fairs in many towns in the area.
Stallholders at this Saturday’s event in Coggeshall included Capricorn Crafts, Elegant Paper Artistry, woodturner Glyn Hall, Peter Deans Ceramics, Mystic Tapir Illustrations, Dixi Dreams jewellery and gifts, Sew Lines Bags, candles by Jessie’s Homemade Goods and fused glass by Little Lime Design Company.
Visitors could browse and buy a variety handmade piece such as ceramics, fused glass, textiles, woodturning and jewellery, alongside paper crafts like cards and quilling, prints, paintings, candles, toys and decorations.
With just under 500 people attending the event, the fair had a steady flow of visitors, with some of the stalls selling Christmas decorations to add to the festive feel.
Dee said she was really pleased with how Saturday’s Fair went.
She said: “It was lovely to be back in Coggeshall. The fairs here are always well received and supported. It’s nice to hear from visitors about how much they enjoy the events, and we get many comments on the high quality and range of crafts on offer.
“The makers' stalls look fantastic, when you enter the hall, it has a very inviting atmosphere and stallholders are very welcoming and friendly.”
We Are Handmade fairs take place in Coggeshall, Great Dunmow and Long Melford.
Coming up are fairs in Foakes Hall, Great Dunmow, on November 5 and the Old School, Long Melford, on November 19.
