POLICE are hunting two callous crooks who tried to snatch a handbag and cash card from an elderly woman.

The victim - aged in her 70s - was getting money out of a cash machine in Newland Street, Witham, at about 10.55am on October 8, when a woman approached her and tried to start a conversation.

A man then approached and tried to grab her bank card while the woman tried to snatch her bag.

The victim told the pair to leave, and they walked away.

Police are now wanting to speak to two people captured on CCTV about the incident.

A spokesman said: “If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us."
