A MAN who damaged a woman’s mobile phone has been ordered to compensate her.
21-year-old James Hillard damaged the device on March 25 in Colchester.
He admitted the offence when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
Hillard, of Chequers Road, Loughton, was conditionally discharged, meaning no further action is taken but if he commits another crime he can be sentenced for both offences.
He was, however, ordered to pay £75 in compensation to his victim and £82 in costs and a surcharge.
