SEVERAL bus services have been terminated as the Dartford Crossing closure continues to cause issues.

Just Stop Oil protesters still remain on the high cables on the QEII Bridge as police continue to try and get them down.

Dartford Crossing has been closed for several hours after it was reported two people had climbed onto the bridge at around 3:50am this morning.

Essex bus services have also been affected by the closure as queues tail back for more than five miles.

First Essex have said services 100 and 200 have been delayed due to severe congestion.

In a tweet they said: “Due to severe congestion, the above services have been delayed.

“Our 100 services will now terminate at the Oaks towards Lakeside.

“200 services will terminate at Palmers College restarting at the Oaks towards Basildon.”

First Essex isn’t the only bus services to be impacted, with EnsignBus say drivers have been stuck for almost three hours.

In a statement they said: “Due to major traffic problems in Thurrock which look set to continue for most of the day because of protestors scaling the QEII Bridge and it being closed as a result, we need to give our drivers rest and refreshment as most have been stuck in traffic for two / three hours.

“Plus, our buses cannot get anywhere at present.

“Therefore, from now until further notice, we will only run the 66 between Chadwell and Tilbury Asda, 77A between Tilbury and Grays (limited service) and rte 99.

“All other services are suspended.”
