MOTORCYCLISTS were caught dangerously riding around public spaces before being apprehended and punished by the police.

Eagle-eyed officers from Essex Police Tendring’s local policing team conducted patrols throughout Harwich on Sunday.

After heading to Parkeston village, they soon spotted two motorbikes which were being ridden around woods and parks, as well as on footpaths.

The inconsiderate bikers, whose actions are said to have had a negative impact on surrounding residents, are said to have been acting anti-socially.

Officers subsequently handed them two Section 59 warnings, which are used to “stop the inappropriate use of vehicles that annoy the public or place people at risk.”

Essex Police have now urged anyone who sees anti-social behaviour in their respective areas to contact the force as soon as possible.

A spokesman for the police said: “Officers stopped two motorcyclists riding around the wooded and park areas of Parkeston which included footpaths.

“This was causing antisocial behaviour affecting residents.
