AN epic fantasy tale of excitement and intrigue awaits families this autumn as an all-new children’s tale takes the stage.

The Chronicles of Atom and Luna follows two young heroes on a fantastical journey through nature and time, taking children on an adventure with puppetry, poems and music.

Written by children’s poet, writer and broadcaster Murray Lachlan Young, the show follows Atom and Luna who have been left home alone.

Their actions lead to a series of magical events with the pair heading out on a journey which will change their lives forever as they head into the forbidden forest.

The early stages of the production were supported through lockdown, by Colchester Council, Colchester Bid and Colchester Borough Homes.

Councillor Pam Cox, portfolio holder for culture and heritage, said: “We are delighted that a grant from Colchester Council’s Cultural and Creative Events Fund helped to secure major funding from Arts Council England for an autumn tour of The Chronicles of Atom and Luna.

“It enables Colchester schools to take part in workshops connected to the show. We wish the production the best of luck and look forward to hearing how it all goes.”

The show will feature at Mercury theatre on November 19 and 20. To book your tickets, visit bit.ly/3SZrMMn.
