Work is underway to carry out emergency repairs to a water supply in Maldon.
Essex and Suffolk Water says there are issues in the CM9 area.
As a result, water supplies in the Oxley Hill area are likely to be affected until 11.45am.
The water firm has released a statement on Twitter, asking for residents to maintain a safe distance, allowing them to work safely.
