A SYNTH-POP songwriter whose career has spanned three decades is “really excited” to bring his more stripped-back and intimate show to Colchester.

The Howard Jones Acoustic Trio, featuring guitarist Robin Boult and Nick Beggs, will perform at Charter Hall, in Cowdray Avenue, on October 22.

The evening will highlight a fresh take on Howard’s best-known hits, such as Things Can Only Get Better, Life In One Day and No One Is To Blame.

It will also see the seasoned singer, who has sold more than eight million albums worldwide, delve into the inspirations behind the tracks.

The electronic music pioneer, who will be supported by the London-based Roxanne de Bastion, is visiting Colchester as part of a 13-date tour of the UK.

He said: “I am really excited about the trio tour we have planned for 2022 - Nick and Robin are dear friends and world class musicians and I love performing with them.

“After touring the trio in America, I thought the time was right for us to bring the fun of this acoustic show back home.

“I will play a range of songs, including the hits old and new, as well as some deep cuts and fan favourites.”

Tickets range from £27.50 to £100 and can be purchased by visiting colchester-events.co.uk.
