WORK is set to begin to renew a set of traffic signals in Colchester.

Traffic lights at the St Botolph’s Street and Osborne Street junction are undergoing work on Monday, October 3 for six weeks.

Temporary signals will be in place with some overnight closures.

The works come as part of an ongoing programme to refurbish and renew all existing traffic signals in Essex, and to migrate to extra-low voltage equipment and lower-energy LED signals.

This will ensure they continue to operate reliably and safely together whilst gaining the benefit of lower energy consumption.
