ANOTHER Essex wedding venue has opened its arms to help brides and grooms following the reported closure of Prested Hall.

Prested Hall in Feering has reportedly closed, with a planned wedding fair for the weekend not going ahead, and bookings no longer available on the website.

Staff have been reported laid off, and a letter sent to staff seen by the Gazette also states “the firm has been instructed by the board of directors to seek a nomination from the company's creditors on the appointment of a liquidator”.

Following the news, Markshall Estate in Coggeshall has offered to help couples out who may have had their weddings cancelled due to the situation at Prested Hall.

A statement reads: “We’ve heard news about a local venue going into liquidation and are saddened to think that brides, grooms and others have had their weddings and events halted because of this.

“Weddings at Markshall Estate is home to a stunning 18th century Coach House, Flower Garden, Tipi and Woodland venue and we’re all about making our couple’s wedding dreams come true.

“With more than 2,000 acres of serene Essex Countryside, we have a unique setting to hold your special day and capture those precious memories.

“We have dates available and would love to help those who have been affected.

“Please share this post with anyone you know who has been affected, we want to ensure that their dream day can still go ahead.”
