Drivers in and around Colchester will have a number of National Highways road closures on the A12 to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing a holdup of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A12, from 8pm April 19 to 5am October 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A12 both directions, junction 25 to junction 30 carriageway closure and diversion route for barrier/fence safety repairs on behalf of National Highways.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A12, from 9am to 3pm on September 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A12 both directions, between, junction 28 and Hottonwood Road, junction - diversion route on behalf of Suffolk Highways.

• A12, from 9.30am September 29 to 3.30pm September 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A12 both directions, junction 26 to junction 29 - diversion route for local authority works on behalf of Essex Highways.

• A12, from 8pm October 3 to 6am October 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A12 both directions, junction 26 and Crown interchange roundabout - diversion route for local authority works on behalf of Triplex TM.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
