MP Priti Patel said the measures unveiled in the mini-budget would allow "hardworking families and businesses" to pocket more of their earnings.
Ms Patel, who represents the Witham constituency, said cuts to taxes, which include a reduction in the basic rate of income tax, would benefit everyone.
She said: “This week’s announcements will mean hardworking families and businesses will be paying less in tax and keeping more of what they earn.
"Alongside the support and help with energy bills, these measures from the Government will be widely welcomed in this part of Essex and across the country.”
