A CANCER charity launched in memory of a young man will commemorate its milestone anniversary with a huge musical celebration next week.

The Robin Cancer Trust is set to mark its 10th anniversary on September 30 with a live show at Three Wise Monkeys, in High Street, Colchester, from 7.30pm

The overflowing line-up of local talent for the special gig consists of Palomino Kings, The Upsy Daisies, Ady Johnson, Josh Sandifer and Generation Feral.

Organised by promoter Ben Benedetti in association with TWM Live, the momentous event will raise money for Colchester organisation the Robin Cancer Trust.

The charity, which raises awareness of testicular and ovarian cancer, was founded in 2012 by the Freeman family following the death of Robin Freeman.

The beloved son and brother, aged just 24, was diagnosed in the prime of his life in 2011 with a rare form of testicular cancer.

A spokesman for the gig said: “A fabulous array of talent coming together to celebrate the anniversary of this well established and much-loved charity.

“Let's bring all supporters of the Colchester music scene out for this show and let's aim to make this a very special night.”

Gig-goers will be encouraged to make a donation of £5 on the door.
