Earlier this year, hundreds of people across the country were awarded honours by the Queen as part of the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

As part of the Jubilee celebrations, the Honours provided an opportunity to celebrate individual outstanding achievements and contributions to British society.

Dozens of people in Colchester – and further afield in Essex – were handed the honours in what was a proud moment for all involved.

In Colchester, there were BEMs for Sudath Leon Dias, Linda Jane Dumbrell, Christine Lucock and George Thomas Johnson.
