A DRIVER who refused to provide a breathalyser sample when stopped by the police has been docked more than £1,000 and banned from driving for a minimum of three months.
Mark Robertson, of London Road, Stanway, appeared in Colchester Magistrates Court last Tuesday where he admitted to refusing the breathalyser test.
He had been driving in Colchester when he was stopped by police last month.
Magistrates fined the 33-year-old £700 and ordered Robertson to pay a £280 to fund victim services.
He was also required to pay £105 to the Crown Prosecution Service, meaning the total fine came to £1,085.
