A POPULAR venue remained closed over the weekend to allow for a period of reflection following the death of Her Majesty the Queen.

Colchester Arts Centre, in Church Street, shut its doors between Friday evening and Sunday as a mark of respect.

A statement said the decision was taken “to allow for mourning and reflection on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.”

It continued: “We hope to reschedule all events and will be in touch with all ticket holders in due course. Further updates will be posted here [on the website] and on social media.”
