A MOTORCYCLIST had to be airlifted to hospital following a nasty crash involving a truck.
Emergency services were called to the A414 Maldon Road in Maldon at about 10am on Saturday, near to the junction with Tom Tit Lane.
Upon arrival it was established a red motorbike and a grey Nissan Navara truck had been involved in an incident while both travelling in the direction of Bicknacre.
The motorcyclist, whose condition is not thought to be life threatening, was flown to hospital, where he still currently remains.
Essex Police have launched an investigation into the crash and are now appealing for anyone with information contact them.
A spokesman for the force said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a collision on the A414 Maldon Road in Maldon in which a motorcyclist was injured.
“Officers closed the road for a short time while they dealt with the collision and they are continuing to investigate the circumstances.
“You can let us know any information by submitting a report on our website at essex.police.uk.
“Alternatively you can call us on 101 and ask to speak to officers at our Stanway Roads Policing Unit. Please quote incident 384 of 10 September in any correspondence.”
