NEW figures reveal the East Suffolk and North Essex Trust is caring for 35 coronavirus patients in its hospitals.
NHS England data shows that the number of people currently being treated in the trust's hospitals, which include Colchester and Ipswich hospitals, with Covid-19 on Wednesday, September 7, was down from 43 patients from the previous week.
Four weeks ago, there were 66 beds which were occupied by Covid-19 patients, in the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
The figures further show that 34 new Covid patients has been admitted to hospital in the East Suffolk and North Essex Trust, in the week to September 5.
This figure was up from 33 in the previous seven days.
Across England as a whole, there were 4,864 people in hospital with coronavirus, as of September 7. 117 of the patients were in mechanical ventilation bed.
The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalised nationally has decreased by 43 per cent in the past four weeks, whilst the number of patients on ventilators has also decreased by 46 per cent.
