COLCHESTER’S MP has been handed an olive branch by the new Prime Minister despite backing Rishi Sunak.
Will Quince was handed a fresh role in the new look Department of Health and Social Care led by Therese Coffey on Wednesday evening.
It comes as Liz Truss appears to have made peace with supporters of her defeated rival Mr Sunak while reshuffling her junior ministerial team.

Joining Mr Quince is Newark MP Robert Jenrick, who was also a high-profile backer of the former chancellor for the Tory leadership.
The Colchester MP Tweeted he was "delighted" to be taking on the new role.
"Like so many across the country, the NHS and its staff have been there for me and my family over the years," he said.
"I am incredibly proud of the role they play in our communities - I know how valued the work of all the staff at Colchester Hospital and at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is among all my residents.
"Anyone that knows me will be aware of my long-term interest and passion on health issues - I know there’s lots to do, and the work starts today."
