A CARE home is raising money for charity through a selection of challenges to celebrate a major company milestone.

Care UK provides residential care for old people, operating hundreds of care homes, including Colne View, in Halstead.

To celebrate 40 years of Care UK, staff and residents at Colne View will be taking on different challenges over 40 days to raise money for Halstead Day Centre.

The day centre offers a friendly place for people to socialise and be included in a range of low-intensity services which reduce isolation.

The activities also encourage activities that promote physical, mental and emotional well-being, while maintaining independence in their own home for longer.

A spokesman said: “Like many local community services, Halstead Day Centre has faced the financial aftermath of the pandemic.

"In a bid to reduce isolation, the team on Bridge Street require additional funds to be able to continue their 44-year-old service to the community, providing trips out to the beach, entertainment and their collect and drop-off service.

“To celebrate 40 years of Care UK, we want to showcase our passion, care, and teamwork, not just to residents and colleagues, but for the local communities in which our care homes exist.

“Colne View staff and residents will be taking on a variety of challenges over a period of 40 days with proceeds going to Halstead Day Centre for the benefit of the community. Wish us luck.”
