THE Mayoress of Colchester is holding an open-house afternoon of music, nibbles, and grandeur – and everyone is invited.

Nicola Goodchild will host her Mayoress at Home event in the Mayor’s Parlour at Colchester Town Hall on Saturday between 12pm and 4pm.

There will be live entertainment from dance company Movement Space Colchester and singing trio The Femmes.

Tea, slices of cake and soft drinks will also be served throughout by charity volunteers, and guests will even be able to wave from the venue’s historic balcony.

Nicola said: “Saturday will be a busy day for Colchester but I specifically moved my date a week earlier so that folk who are in town anyway can pop in.

“The cakes are being homemade by the charity committee members as well as Cardamon, the Wonderland Kitchen, Cakeworx of Kirby and the Patch Cafe.

“Vegan and gluten-free cakes will be available and the Mayor's Parlour in the Town Hall is accessible via the lift at car park level.

“I welcome anyone who would like to pop in, see some of the historic regalia and maybe even wave from the Mayor's balcony.”
