ESSEX Police say their investigation into a father’s car windscreen being smashed has been shelved.
Paul Hunt’s Seat Leon was left with a shattered windscreen after three hooded figures targeted it in Greenstead Road, Colchester.
A police spokeswoman revealed there had been a lack of lines of inquiry during their probe.

“We were called to Greenstead Road in Colchester shortly before 2pm on August 21, following reports of criminal damage to a car,” she said.
“Following a lack of lines of inquiry, this report has been filed. Should further information be submitted, this investigation will be re-opened.”
