A MAN has been charged with a string of offences after a city centre was hit with a dozen break-ins over the space of a few weeks.
Essex Police officers arrested a 37-year-old man, from Colchester, on Monday, on suspicion of burglary.
Following an investigation, the man was charged with 12 counts of burglary and one case of criminal damage.
The spate of break-ins occurred in the city centre between July and August.
After appearing at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday the man was remanded in custody.
