A THIEF who stole a bicycle worth more than £2,000 has been jailed for 12 weeks.
Philip Spicer, of Haven Road, Colchester, appeared in magistrates court last Wednesday where he admitted to stealing a bicycle worth £2,030.
The 51-year-old, who committed the offence on Saturday, July 30, was sentenced to 12 weeks in behind bars and was also ordered to pay the victim of the theft £2,030 in compensation.
