A MAN found to be carrying a taser also directed threatening or abusive words towards two police officers. 

Jake Piercy, 25, appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on August 17, where he admitted possessing a torch taser in Harwich. 

He was found in possession of the weapon on February 27. 

Piercy, of Fryatt Avenue, Dovercourt, also admitted being in charge of a BMW while over the legal alcohol limit. 

He was found to have 59mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg. 

The offender also admitted two counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour directed towards two police officers.

The court record stated: "The court finds that this offence was motivated - wholly or partly - by hostility towards persons who are of a particular
sexual orientation." 

Piercy was sentenced to a community order, with conditions to complete 80 hours of unpaid work and a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement. 

He was banned from driving for six months and ordered to pay a £400 fine.
