DRIVERS are being warned of further disruptions to their journeys as the Essex Suffolk Fuel Price protestors plan another A12 blocking demonstration next week.

The group will stage another protest, where they occupy both lanes of the A12 and crawl along at a snail’s pace, essentially delaying motorists' journeys.

The A12 then comes to an almost standstill to highlight the protests over high fuel prices and the increased cost of living.

The group hopes that by closing vital access routes during the busiest time of day, they will force the Government to reconsider and address the fundamental issues causing the cost-of-living crisis.

The event will take place on Thursday, August 25.

The plan is to meet at Jobserve Community Centre, where Colchester United play at 7am, with plans to join the A12 at 7.30am.

Footage from a protest earlier this month shows how the A12 was brought to an almost standstill, as cars queued back, causing disruption to commuter's mornings.

One protestor speaking to the Gazette last month said: "You get people against us, you're always going to get that.

"The people who moan about us also moan about the fuel crisis but won't stand up and be counted. Do something about it.

"We're trying to make our point."

"We're also not associated with Just Stop Oil," he added. "We want the oil.

"It is about the price of fuel and trying to make a nuisance of ourselves. Maybe the Government will take notice."
