The two boxes of Dairy Milk bars cost more than £70
A MAN has been jailed for 20 weeks and fined £150 after assaulting a police officer and stealing nearly £75 worth of Cadbury Dairy Milk bars.
Jon Birch, of Heia Wharf, Colchester, admitted assaulting and causing criminal damage to property belonging to PC Jade Morgan on Saturday, August 6.
In July, Birch also stole two boxes of Dairy Milk chocolate bars to the value of £74.72 from a Co-op supermarket.
Appearing in Colchester Magistrates Court last Monday, Birch, 43, was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison and ordered to pay a total of £150.
