A MAN has been sent to prison for ten weeks after stealing from a large supermarket chain.
Amos Price admitted stealing from Sainsburys in Stanway.
Price, 40, of Upper Brook Street, Ipswich, entered the Stanway shop on Friday, August 12 and stole six bottles of Jack Daniels and various other food items.
The value of the goods stolen came to £244.10.
A representative from the court said: “The offence is so serious because the defendant is a prolific persistent offender.
“Aggravated by the defendant's antecedent’s history and history of failing to comply with court orders.”
He has been ordered to pay £154 to fund the victim services.
