A DRIVER has been banned from the roads for a year after being found above the legal drug limit.
Ivan Alexander, of Clear Water, Colchester, was caught driving in the city last July, over the limit of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, the main psychoactive ingredient of cannabis.
EXPLAINED - What we can and can't report from court
The limit is 2 micrograms per litre of blood. Alexander registered 3.5.
The verdict was proved in his absence at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court.
The 34-year-old was ordered to pay a fine of £180 and banned from driving for a year.
