A 95-YEAR-OLD nursing home resident was delighted to get a blast from the past, after five of his previous students, from more than 50 years ago, came to pay him a visit.
Peter Hurst, 95, of Woodland View Nursing Home in Colchester, was a teacher at Monkwick School from 1961 to 1987, originally teaching Physical Education, before later switching to teach Geography.
Peter has been a resident of the Woodland View Nursing Home for the past five years.
He was elated after five of his previous students came to visit him for a long overdue catch-up and an afternoon of reminiscing.
Former students Richard Arnold, Alan Dennis, Adrian Webster, Trevor Moss and Derrick Saddler attended Monkwick School between 1963 and 1968.
After 54 years separated, the group of six had nothing but lovely things to say about Peter, their old teacher.
The group spent the afternoon reminiscing about years gone by, happy school memories and how life has progressed for all of them since moving on from school.
