A CLACTON man has been fined more than £1,500 after he deliberately damaged a police car and a Ford Transit.
Robert Hatwell, 45, of Point Clear Road, Clacton, admitted the two charges when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates Court.
The charges relate to an incident which took place in Braintree in June last year, when Hatwell damaged a police car belonging to Essex Police as well as a Ford Transit belonging to a member of the public.
Hatwell had £377 deducted from his benefits and was ordered to pay £53 in compensation for damaging the police vehicle.
Hatwell was ordered to pay £500 in compensation, a victim services charge of £34, and £105 to the Crown Prosecution Service for damaging the Ford Transit.
It means Hatwell was fined a total of £1,531.
Two charges relating to assault by beating were dismissed.
