COLCHESTER’S Morris Men are enjoying a successful series of public displays after a two-year gap caused by Covid restrictions.
This year’s programme features 19 displays between May and September at different locations in Colchester and Suffolk.
On Friday the group danced in front of The Hare and Hounds pub, in Layer Breton.
This Friday they will be at The Old Cross Inn, in Messing, performing from 8pm.
The first Morris club in Colchester started in 1926, but disbanded during the Second World War.
The current club was established in 1953 and celebrates its 70th anniversary next year.
From mid-September through to the end of April the club practises on Friday nights and new members are welcome.
