A POLICE inspector has urged parents to warn their children of the dangers of playing on rooftops.

The force has stated it is working with Colchester Council following multiple reports of anti-social behavior where residents are seen running on city centre rooftops.

A spokeswoman added the “extremely dangerous” act has resulted in criminal damage in some instances.

Essex Police inspector Stuart Austin said: “We currently believe that those committing these offences are minors, and we would urge and parents or guardians who may be aware of children doing this, to inform them of the dangers.”
