
FIREFIGHTERS are investigating the cause of three fires which broke out at a Colchester nature reserve.
Fire crews were called to Hilly Fields, off Sheepan Road, Colchester, at 10.26pm yesterday.
A spokesman confirmed firefighters found three fires in a field, covering an area of half a hectare.
She said: "Firefighters used hose reels and beaters to extinguish the fire by 11:32pm."
Residents reported seeing the glow of the fires from surrounding roads.
